Duty of the Hour—A Jnited Democracy. tMJ' The value of the victory by which the crreat Emrjire State was transferred from Radical to Democratic Do&sesaion is best estimated by ita effects upon the political fhtnr of the whole country. It would. in, led hn a eomnarati velv barren triumph wore its influence confined to the limits ot New York, and its results of a merely temporary character. The real nignita cance of the victory achieved last full is to be found in its bearings upon the Con gressional election of the present year, and in the Presidential campaign, which three years hence will, we confidently believe, civo us a Dsmoeratic occupant of the White House. . Viewed Tn'this light, it is an unerring indication of tho cret rcare tion which, is going on in the popula mind, and presages the inevitable destruo- i tion of the Kadieal rrty.
