E. 7. PAYNE, Proprietor. MKmriNH tixik. BAiinourt co.. kans. current coMMErrr. Tun fact that Kiccitti Garibaldi and a company of Italians have crossed to Epypt to aid Arab! Bey may not of itself amount to much but it is somewhat sig nificant as showing the drift of popular feeling in Italy. Two candidates for Congress in North Carolina, opened the campaign in a novel but interesting manner. It was duly advertised that the proceedings would be opened by two marriages. The brides were two pretty girls of the county and the huabanuVclcct well-to-do young fanners, and the brides were given away by the two leading orators of the occas ion. Of course tjiis brought an immense crowd. An acceptable feature of the day, at least to the new matrimonial candidates, was each couple received a present of a complete outfit for house keeping from the rival candidates for Congress. The regular appropriations for the fiscal year ending Jun 30, 1883, will be in round numbers $203,000,000. From this amo...
