Track laying which had been suspended, was resumed Inst I'rid.iy, and now 23 train crews are busy hauling rock and ballast to put under the track and trains pass through Versailles hourly. The west 100 miles of the Kock Island line through Pleasant Hill will cost, says the Times, on p.n average, jfHJ.WW.M) per mile that is lor grading, cutting and bridge work. The uver.ige cost of this work in this country is fo.fXJ.fX) per mile. Over l'l.OOO.WX) cubic feet of overhauling has been done and millions of pound of cement have been used in the bridges.
