Owing to the continued pretty weather for doing farm work, there were not many farmers in town Saturday, hence the attendance at the Farmers' Institute was small. Howerer, there was a quorum for business and a quite interesting ses- sion was held. Among the questions to receive attention wa%that pertain- ing to a market for our truck this season. It was thought that, if it remains seasonable, the association will have several car loads of melons, onions, etc. to market and it was thought best to lpcate a good market as early as possible. On Sunday afternoon, May 14th at 2 o'clock, Arthor J. Dendy was drowned in White Dam tank about fifteen miles northwest of Boom. J. B. Roberson was building fence for the XIT people and had Willie Anderson, Herman and Clyde Rob- erson and Arthor Dendy helping him. Roberson left the four men in camp Saturday evening and went home to spend Sunday. The boys spent the forenoon about camp and just after dinner decided to go in bathing in the tank. The tank was about eighty yards wide and one hundred yards long and had abopt forty yards of water from eight to twelve feet deep in it. After swim- ming around for some time Willie and Arthor agreed to swim across to the other side. Arthor could not swim so well as Willie who reached shallow water first, when it was discovered that Arthor had become confused ...
