FATE OF THE POLICE PARTY. Fno.w Mr. J. Johnston, o£ the Post and Telegraph Department, we have received thc following additional particulars concerning the lost police party : " Mr. A. ~W. Giles and party returned to Attack Creek on Sunda}', 25th, and reports having found tho bodies of Mounted-constable Shirley and Arthur Phillipps. Hunted for the other bodies on the plain and at the edge of the scrub for four days, but were unable to find any trace of them. Found Shirley's I body under a bush about ten miles from water, close to where Mr. Giles left him. Phillipps' body was on the plain about four miles further back. Mr. Giles l'ead the funeral service and the bodies were buried. Iso hopes are held out of any of the others being alive as they must have wandered away into the scrub. The party recovered 5 pack saddles, 2 riding saddles, 3 revolvers, 6 rifles, and 2 watches."
