The bazaar in aid of the building fund of the Church of England was a great success, upwards of .100 having been received a! realy, while a large quantity of articles re mains to be sold. The Church will be opened on Sunday, 2.th inst.. on which day the liev. Canon Watson of Sale, will olliciate in the morning, and His Lordship the Bishop of Melbourne in the evening. Political matters are now the principal topics of conversation down here, and a vast amount of interest will be manifest on the day of polling, judgingby the desire of each partisan to put in his man. Two addresses have been delivered. one by?Mr.Mason and the other by Mr. M'Ivor, both of which were well received. Povellin the chair, the meeting coun sisted of less than a dozen persons, not the half of whom appeared snpporters of the candidate. Mr. MlcIvor addressed the meetingfora short tne donouncingin strong terms the Government and their policy, and predicting all kinds of disasters for South Gippsland if the present Ministry obtained a majority in the next Parliament.
