Poultry Breeding For Profit. By G. Buadshaw. Of the many side issues of the farm perhaps none have received so small consideration as the too often underated domestic hen, for of the numerous small things cal -Milnt.r-rl tn Virino in riWRime. none can he so reliably depended on as a flock of well-bred, young, and healthy fowls. The majority of crops yield and are harvested, and once a year even the best milking cattle will for a time he dry, but, from say one hundred young and early--.- hatched hens, there will be regular weekly in come from eggs. The large farms devoted-solely to poultry I advise all to shun, but a farm of whatever nature or size will be more profit able by the inclusion in its stock of a well managed poultry section. The backyard poultry keeper man ages to make his dozen or twenty fowls pay handsomely; the subur ban breeder, on his little allot ment, can in good seasons or bad show a profit, but of all the places where fowls are kept the agricul tural farm is that...
