DR. KEITH WARD AND DIVINING [Newspaper Article] — Centralian Advocate — 14 June 1947

DR. KEITH WARD AND DIVINING BY C. IL CHAI'MAN In an article on water in Wed nesday's 'Advertiser,' Dr. L. Keith Ward speaks learnedly or. water and waterfinding. With some of his comments I entirely agree and that is divining by means of the rod and other super natural devices and we agree also that one should know something about geological structures and the combination that directs water in various channels and the reason why water in quantity cannot be found outside these channels. But io suggest that water cannot be? found by new scientific appliances is not by any means correct. I personally proved that at the Gran ites in face of all geologists who proclaimed my ideas ridiculous (See Federal records.) in the centre, Dr. Ward selected sites for many bores and a record of these will be described in future issues ;»nd those good and bad will if the Department of Interior al low-; will b-j credited or debited. Personally in my long exper ience lii . H boring and aided by a Mansfi...

DO YOU KNOW ? [Newspaper Article] — Centralian Advocate — 14 June 1947

DO YOU KNOW ? — :o: — Obsidium, that handsome black jewel that falls from the sky like meteorite, is found in quantity in the vicinty of Charlotte Waters, near Abminga. This with opal ac- companiments, is still the most breath-taking pair in Australia. In a jewel making company branch to be erected at Alice in the future this form of jewellery will have a prominent place. In view of the train at P.umbal nra, and situated north-east from the t'aihvay station, is a remark able hill, described in catalogues as the Maiden's Breast, and desig nated by our rude outbackers as a bird of another color. The hill stands out clear with a well devel oped breast that needs no 'describ- ing, the nipple is just perfect and the general silhouette is wonder ful. Near here are the ochre mines. Since the heavy rains, and the fact that the abos have not j^ot to look for food, but merely wait to be fed, the rabBits are breeding profusely, and thousands now exist where recently only a few were seen.
