OBITUARY. Mr Alexander WalKer Still another very old resident of the town Ims passed away, in the person of Mr Alexander Walker, who died at the residence of Ilia daughter (Mrs Jenkins), Darlington Koail, at midniijht on Monday. The sad event was not altogether unexpected, as tne deceased had been ailing for a considerable period. The la'e Mr Walker, who was years of age, was a native of Scotland, and arrived in Victoria it) the early "fifties." He came to Stawell—or Pleasant Creek as it was then known—in the tirot gold rush days. For some time he followed mining, and also at his trade of carpenter. He was a staunch member of the A.H.E.A., an'l for lmny years-was treasurer of that body. His wife predeceased him about two yeara ago, and he leaves a grown-up family to mourn hie death. ThH funeral took place yesterday afternoon'and was largely attended. The members of the A,M.E.A. were in attendance. The deeeased's family consists of one'son antl three daughters—Mr Alex. Dr Thomas Hutchmgs. Widespread regret will be felt at the death of Dr Thomas Mulchings, who w is killed fcy the express train at Goulburn, N.S.W., on Tuesday morning The deceased, who was a brother of Mr J. C. Hatchings, of Wiminera Park, Glenorchy, waa 37 ypars of ape, and was a native of Stawell. The late Dr Hutchings was a son of the late Mr Hutchings, of'Bryntirion, Lubeck.
