This makes the sec ond artesian well for the town and demonstrates the fact that flowing water can be had by go ing after it.. A well drilling'out fit sank the hole in a very short time, and at the depth of 130 feet the artesian flow was en couptered. Everything indicates that the flow is some stronger per min ute than the Stanley Scearce well, which has stood the test now for nearly 20 months, and has' furnished excellent water to so many people in Ronan. E. Mendenhall living south of Ro nan, swore out a warrant charg ing a hired man with the theft of a diamond ring, diamond stick pin and some other jewelry belonging to Mendenhall Bros., and the warrant was placed in the hands of Fred Simmons for service. Bateman will inaugurate a system of auto stages on his line between Ravalli anq Ronan the first of the coming month and discard the four horse stage coaches. He has purchased an other 16-passenger auto and is assembling it at Ravalli now, preparatory to establishing the new service.
