DEBATE ON TIHE VETO MtESE. The Senate paM the Bill over the Veto. VYasi8ngyoni, Jan. 7-The Senate dlebated, the veto message for a coil pelc of hours, then paeeod the hiii over the veto by twenty-nine ayes and ten nays. The 'Resolution, as origi nally written, instructed the Judi ciary Committee to prosecute the investigation. He was forced to strike this out before offering it. The substitute authorized otherwise would nriot have got twenty votes. It is generally thought that the committee will make show of irnves tigation, but unless the case assumes more promisilng appearance, they will soon drop it. The National Democratic Resident Executive Cuimittee will celelerate the anniversary of the battle of New Orleans by a baniuiet at the Nation al to-joirrow evening. The Presi dent and Cabinet are expected to attend. The veto message meets the hear ty ap...
