A New BysiNESS. -The firm of Ed wards, Griffin & Co. were lately brought belore Court in Chicago, on the charge ot beiug : vagrant?, when one of them made the ' following revelations : "These two pentlemen and . myself are the firm of Edwards, G tiffin & Co. We are propo sers. By that I mean we proposer, to young ladies and help to ?et them married. We are benefactors. When wc see a jonng lady who is not, "and never has been engaged, one of us says to her : 'We Trill get you married for 3 , payable after marriage.' Of course she says yes. The Spread Eaqle Penny Hoax. ! About the first ot April, some one started tbe report that the nickel cents of 1858, containing the celebrated "spread eagle," had become very scarce, owiDg to the fact that the government was calling them in, in- consequence of a mistake having been made in the alloy,. by which their Value was greatly enhanced.
