The measure meets with violent opposition in some sections of the county, but it is really gratifying to notico how beautifully tho Republicans and tho Conservatives (alias Democracy disguised) fraternize in Farmvillo upon this question, and I am forcibly reminded of that scriptural injunction, "Brethren, how sweet to dwell together in harmony and in love." FaiDAY~EVK'Q. MAKCII. 24, 1871. lioTnTl'racacal Snggfitlon. Auontt Female Health, Beanty, and a Sermon on Matrimony. Dr. Dio Lowis has written a book about girls—"Our Girls" is tho title—and Harper" ft Brothers have published it. He says that he has always been deeply interested in tho girls. When young nothing fascinated him so much, and even now ho admires them as much as ever. Tho chief topic on which he writes for their benefit is health, and he begins by giving them good advice about boots and shoes. As a rule their soles are too narrow. Besides, tho pressure of the upper leather checks the circulation iv the foot and makes it cold. This sort of shoe with an elastic garter worn about the leg just below the knee, is the cause why the great majority of girls have cold feet. If ; the soles of tho ...
