They are a foel blot upon the face of nature, a noxious stench in the -^ .uostrils of the world, which should be jreqiovcd. N =**! A Kiahi'Brains Knocked Outand Tat Ho Still Lives! The Baa Clara (Wisconsin) Tele- graph narrates the following singular case of surgery. The case is that of James Cambell, a laborer in the em- ploy of Geo. The tiarfc: Antelope, formerly of New Ha • Ten* Connecticut, was recently taken to Remedios, sold to the Spaniards, and has sailed for the coast of Africa for a cargo of slaves. Daring the years I have resided in this island the average number of Afri- cans landed each year, to my knowl- edge, has been abont 8,000. Looking over my notes a few days ago for the fast year, I find that daring it no less than 23,000 were landed, an increase of nearly three hundred percent.; and there were doubtless many thousands landed besides, of which I never heard.
