It is understood that Gen. Garfield will meet Chandler on the question of the electorial bargain in the corn- ing campaign in New Hampshire. Ilenry McCauley, who murdered Evans in cold blood, near Eagle Ford, who escaped from the Wise county jail last January, is again in that jail. The State Geologist of Georgia is credited with the assertion that the gold region of Georgia is richer than that of California, and asserts that its yield must very soon become enormous. In the house, Monday, Represen- tative Turner, of Kentucky, intro- duced a bill looking to the taxation of United States bonds equally with other property for state purposes. The seventh ward in Austin chose one negro and one white man KB delegates to represent their ward in the State Greenback Convention to meet at Austin. The Farmers' and Traders' bank, of Washington, Ky., has suspended. It is stated that its loans end dis- counts aggregate $220,000 ; the de- posits will not exceed $80,000. A Washington correspondent says Superintendent McPherson, of the bureau of printing and engraving, is pushing the work on the silver cer- tificates under the new law. The first will be for ten dollars, with the head of Robert Morris. The last will be for $1,000. The engravings are proposed to be equal in style to legal tender notes. Rev. Thirty-seven men, eighteen of whom were from Travis couuty alone, was the grand total that presumed to speak for the great( ?) new party that intend to work such gigantic financial reform in the government. These immortal thirty seven did there and then resolve to sever all connection with other existing polit- ical parties and begin at once wrest- ling with the financial problem on their own hook. We will wager a nickel that every one of the thirty-seven felt, as Silas Wegg expresses it, ''Equal to collar- ing the problem and throwing him on the spot."
