Drinking Facilities AT MERRYLANDS RAILWAY STATION J With reference to the endeavour of Holroyd Council to secure a bubbler fountain at Merrylands railway station (other local bodies backing up the re- , quest), a letter, received by tlie P. and C. Association from the Department (per Dr.'C. C. Fleck, MJLA.), was presented to Holroyd Council meeting on Tuesday night. It contains the Commissioners' reply, as .loiiows: 'Conditions at Merrylands station are different from many other stations, and it is considered that the p recent facilities reasonably meet all re quirements. Therefore the Department cannot incurr the expense a bubbler (would involve. While the enamel mug on the chain. Is liable to become chipped and rusted, it is the practice to rcplacc them when necessary.' Dr. Fleck is still pressing the matter tihrough the Board of Health.
