OUR SWAN REACH LETTER. Saturday, March 11. [Newspaper Article] — Bairnsdale Advertiser and Tambo and Omeo Chronicle — 14 March 1882

OUJR SWAN IEACH LETF'IER. (fROMi OUR OWN COoRRESPONDENT.) Saturday, Marchl 11. Hop-lpicking and threshing are tile order of tile day on tile Tamhbo. Hop-lpickers are scarce, and being mnostly.new hands at the work, do not pick so nmuch as anticipated besides, some of them nhave to wanlk a con siderable distance to and from their work. I believe Mr. Schmnelern, assisted by Mr. Rednbach, is preparinglhis hops in first-clans condition. I understand Mr. Whiting Ios sold his crop to Mr. Swan, Bairnsdale. If nll who are talkilg of going into hop. growing oni tile Inmibo carry out their inteln ions thle Tambo will soon rival the valley of the Mitchell for hIop.growring. I wouhl re commendl growers to build nice eomfortable huts to accounodate five or six families at least, if thlley expect to get pickers from a distaonce, as it is evident there are fewt in our immedlate ineighlborlhood.
