Alleged Slander. PENROSE v. DEVINK. At tho Boggabri Polico Coart on Friday a enso of alleged slander was heard boforo Mr. A. O. Butler, P.M., in which Mr. Penrose, of Guuucdah, suod Mr. Doviue, of tlio firm of Do vine, Elliott and Martin, of Boggabri, for what practically amounted to ac cusing him (Penroso) of forging tho name of Mr. W. F. Grover to a letter withdrawing the ' Wean ' proporty front tho hands of Dcvino, Elliott and Martin. Mr. McDonald appeared for tho plaintiff, and Mr. Norton, of Potts and Norton, for defoudunt. The ovidenco of tho plaintiff seemed most conclusive, but on examination ho admitted that his ouly witness (Mr. A.
