Ther employees rejected the proposal, but work was proceeded with for the present. The imprisoned, bank directors Frank Smith, Agustus Miiler, and George J. Fin loysou were released on Saturday. Dr Garran will probably be appointed Undersecretary to the Department of Labor. The Minister intends to deal first with the labor part of the new department and get that section on a working basis before touch   ing the section relating to industrial. The Minister says he will make very few new   appointments, and intends to utilise the officers already in the service. Branches of the Cabor Bureau will be es tablished throughout the colony.
