Numurkah Water-Trust. The usual monthly meeting of the above, was held in the Shire hall; Numurkah, on Tuesday last. Pre sent:— Corns. From State Rivers and Water Supply Commission, stating that the quantity of water being diverted at Casey's Weir is about 650 c.f.m., a quantity in excess of the proper allotment, which ought to be suffi cient to maintain the flow o£ the Creek 4o Numuikah—Com. The Tallygaroopna Tragedy. RANDALL FOUND NOT GUILTY Orville Byron Randall surrended to his bail at General Sessions, Shep- parton, on Thursday, before his Honor Judge Box, on the charge of manslaughter of William Henry Anstis, farmer. Mr. J. Sutherland appeared for the Crown, and Mr. W. McC. Abernethy for the defence. Mr. Sutherland briefly narrated the facts of the case, which have already appeared in these columns. On the night of January 3rd, after closing time, the deceased was found lying on the verandah of the Victoria Hotel, Tallygaroopna, in- toxicated, Austis tried to arouse him ; something of a rebuff ensued ; Austis fell; and died some time later. Mr. Sutherland stated that he had been struck on the jaw by the accused. Evidence was given by John Inglis (licensee of the Victorian Hotel, Tallygaroopna), John Bolger, Dudley Jas.
