Among the criminal ones (it is painful for us to state it) two persons have been convicted of hog stealing and send, one for one year and the other for two years at hard labor in the State Penitentiary, another one has been found guilty of assault and battery on a child, and send to the Parish Jail for three months, to pay a fine of $400 and costs of Court. POLICE J~RY.-M-iOlly next is the day fixed by law fora regular meeting of the Police Jury of our Parish. All those who have claims against the Parish, (and God knows they are numerous) must file them at the office of the Clerk, Mr. Bell, the quickest possible if they wish a settlement.
