A few hours were devoted to the examination aud adjustment of the ma chinery connected with a cotton gin. The wheel on the main ah aft was found to be out of level; the upper end of tho shaft itself rubbed againat the timber above it; the horitontal shaft was out of levelthe ends of that also rubbed; and the cog wheel on this shaft was so out of position, that its teeth did not work evenly in the cogs of the main wheel; and doubtless upon examination, a large number of other gin powers will be found in tho same condition as mine.
