Sisce our. list issue we have to report the following foreign arrivals r Ang. 24, Am. ship Monticcllo, from Northwest Coast; British ship Lorento, from Baker's Island. ( The Monticello has on board 120 bids, humpback oil. She brings no reports of any of the whalers. The Lorenzo is in distress, leaking badly. Ehe has nearly a full cargo of guano on board, which will be discharged and a surrey held upon the vessel. "Wc learn of the loss of the British clipper ship Mattie Hanks, on the 26th of Slay, at Baker's Island. The D.C Murray is loading for San Fran cisco, and is to sail on the 2d of Sept. - Tho Cambridge is on the berth for Portland. As usual at this reason, trade is very dull. Sugars are'eoming in but slowly, as several of the larger plantations are not vorking at present. We quoto the following from ths Adcertiter of August 21. Wyllie, 113 days from Bremen, with an as sorted cargo. Aug. 27, Am. bark Comet, 13 days from Ban Francisco, with passengers and cargo to C. Braver A Co. Oar reports from San Francisco on our prin cipal export articles, are as follows : Sugar, with the exception of the best grades, is in no demand ; strictly No. 1 sold at 12ic and 12c. was asked. Molasses, very dull Pula in no demand ; quotations are nominally 9c. 10c. Bice is in fair demand, at 10c. for choice.
