Coming into ouroflico Inst Tuesday .morning, we found tlio doorway al most blocked up with vegetables, con oisting of cabbages, boets and pota toes, rained by Mrs. Dr. VVhitsbll, in her garden, a mile or two from town. Thecubbngo weighed fourteen poumls each, nnl tho potatoes from onn to throe and a half pounds each. The beets wore also lurge, and wo venture the assertion that u bitter und more attractive lot of vegetables cannot be gathered at rundom, ns these were, from, any other garden in the county. If so, we are much mistaken. We like to see such evidence of the power of our Franklin county soil to biing forth fine eatables. Would that eve ry person in tho county would strive beat in the raising of such, for then vc could calculate upon an improved soil, and wo should never hour of cit izens "going to a new country."
