Miscellaneous. Ammonia In thr Household. Ammonia is valuable for many practi cal purposes in the economy of the house bold. Chemists are profound concerning toe native articlein its all important ser vices in the economy of nature ; but far mere' wives throughout the country' really know but very little of the manifold use that can be made of a pint of .cpint? kept in the house, bottled and labelled. The following are among these : For washing paint, put a table spoonful in a quart of moderately hot water, dip in a nanne ciotn, ana witu it simply wipe ou the woodwork, eo Ecurbbins will be necessary For taking grease spots from any babric, use the ammonia nearly' pure, then lay white blotting paper over the spot, and iron it Iiebtly. In washing Iacca, put about twelve drop. in a pyit of warm suds. To clean silver, mix two teaspoonful of ammonia in a quart of hot soapsuds, put in jour silverware and wash it, using an old Bail or tooth brush for the purpose. For cleaning hair brushes &...
