The investigation of the customa frauds in New York resulted, in the indictment of Blatchtord, deputy col lector of that'port, whose whereabouts la yet a profound mystery. The frauds in the customs and other rev enue departments seem steadily growing into frightful proportions. The drawback and other frauds in the New York custom houses, known to cover a million or more, are not probed to the bottom before the an nouncement is made of similar dis coveries In California, and the truth comes out that Supervisor Fulton's mlaaion to that region Is not exclu sively to look after distillers, but Into the affairs of the custom houses there.
