Stye fimauk Irtsmftt. Bismarck, D. T,, Nov. 28) 1877. The House committee on private land claims have come to a decision in the case of Mrs. Herrick, who asks congress to give her a patent to certain lands in Minnesota which her husband had en tered under the homestead act. The case has already been mentioned in our dispatches. The land was entered in 1863, and Herrick began to improve the land. He died in 1S64, and in 1S65 his widow removed from the land, leaving it in eharge of a tenant, and took .up her residence in New Yerk temporarily, as she claims. In 1S07 congress granted the land running through the tract en tered by Mr. Herrick to a railroad com pany.and in 1S72 the department decided that Mrs. Herrick was not entitled to her patent because she had practically aban doned the land and that the n.i'road company, having the grant, was entitled to it. The committee decide that the removal was not an abandonment, and having entered it prior to the railroad, she is entitled t...

®&eiU$matck^ikuiuL Bismarck, D. T.f Dec. 7,1877. The Trfbnnc. For some time we have seriously con sidered the propriety of suspending the Tri-weekly TRIBUNE, discharging about half of our force, and adopting the patent inside plan which gives much more read ing matter for much less money, but we have determined instead to increase toe amount of our telegraphic matter, and to improve the paper in every manner pos sible.. The TRIBUNE has always been com mended for its enterprise, which has told for Bismarck, ar.d it does not intend to take the back track. The Pioneer-Fre^s has raised the cry "On to Paris." Minnesota and' Dakota missed the Centennial Exposuon but the Paris Exoosi tion of'jS offers an equal opportunity for a display that would make us known to all Europe. The Pioneer-Press wants the work of gittin- rea.lv to begin at once. It correctly a-serts as follows: "It wou.d astonish the French peasant, toiling for a bare subsistence on his little acre, to learn that perh...
