It is from the pee of a gentleman who has distinguished himseK in the service of the Democratic party asd who would be the last to surrender an iota of oar ancient aad time-honored principles which bare conducted the Government to its present proud aad elevated position. The rea seeing and positions of the article, we think, will be generally approved by oar readers. Fer the Memphis Appeal. Messrs. Edctoks: The Know-Nothing papers seem to be wederfally exercised of late reference to a Pacific Railroad, and the probable coarse of the Tennessee Democracy in relation thereto.
