Mr. IM. J. Scott, to Messrs. A. J. Johnson & C) . Scott was an energetic and useful journalist, and we are sorry to lope him from the pres4. We hope some of these days to see him again on the tri pod. The editor of the Baton Rouge Gazette has been lately feasting on a watermleon raised by Mr. Thos. llasilico last July, and kept in a sound state of preserva'ion ever since. The Advocate thus laments over the dullness of the times there: "The town is exceedingly well behaved. No cases before the courts, no ights not (ven a chicken or dog fight to interrupt the I, n ,touy of the streets.
