The work of prep aration has oeen carried on tlgorously for the past two weeks, and b the above date everything will be in per fect readiness. The program will be furnished entirely by the pupili, with the exception of some of the music. Pupils of all grades of the grammar and primary departments will be rep resented. Don Johnson yesterday arrested Hugh Drake, a notorious horse thief In the Sulpour Spring valley and turned him over to Capt. Oglesby, a New Mexico officer. The public schools closed yetterdiiy for two weeks In consequence of tl. edict that went out by the board that all scholars be vaccinated or remain from school two weeks. This require ment was considered necessary Inas much as a case of small pox had broken out tn the school and this was deemed u reasonable expedient to prerent any spread of the contageou.
