PUBLISHED EVERY FRIDAY. HOMER, - LOUISIANA April 4, 1890. Danger in Unbolled Milk. It is now known that the tuber culosis is very common in cattle whose flesh forms such a large i part of our food. Were It not for i the protection given by cooking the history of this disease would perhaps be a much sadder one l than it is. But there is one sort i of animal food derived from the cow which is taken uncooked. Is itCot possible that cow's milk is the great source of the infection of our race? It is stated that the appearance of tuberculosis among certain tribes of men dates from the time when cattle from datry e farms were introduced. It is further stated that 50 per c cent of 4"Lry .ttle suffer at some time from tu.eroulosis. The im S prte t poi'tl to investigate is e whether tubarculo~s infetioas1 ' 'ster ist ':nd in the milk of t ' ierclriar c a.
