This was a t.tern-wliccl boat which Messrs. IL A I). G. Mills had procured at Si Louis Mo. expressly to run through our Canal and which was lost as above while on her way here. She was accompanied with two barges intended as lighters to be taken in tow for the Canal trade. The steamer U said to be a total loss with the exception of her machinery hhich has been saved; aud the barges arc also sated.
