The twenty-seventh legislature will soun be a thing of the past but it will no doubt occupy a very con- spicuous place in the anuals of Texas by reason of the history it has made. The labors of the sec- ond called session'4 are complete and Tuesday noon will witness sine die adjournment, provided, that both the house and senate ratify the report of the free conference committee on the" appropriation, which is reasonably certain.. The bill when it left the house carried something like $6.0>0,000. The conference committee got down to their labors yesterday and the bill went to the printer last night and will be laid on the desks of both houses Monday morning: 1 am told by members of the committee that it has been trimmed to the ex- tent of-about |300,000, and it is very likely that when it gets to the governor it will be treated to an- other pruning.
