Cotter, of Tarpon, arrived In the city Hun- da* afternoon, In Mayor Rice' pri- vate yacht, the Zealand, considered the finest gasolene launch In the water of the gulf. The party re- mained In the city until 4 o'clock In the afternoon, and the Zeeland which waa anchored at Central wharf wax the center of much Intercut and admiration. The boat wnn purchased In New York last year and brought all the way to Houston through the "Inside rote"—through the lake , through the Chicago river to the lili nula then the Mississippi and then the gulf and up the Houston ship canal. The ori- ginal cost or the boat was forty thousand dollars. Mr. Rice has never made public the price be paid for the boat.
