CFF Bike-A-Thon Planned David Matejowski of Bastrop and Barry Poth of Smithville have accepted the chairman- ship of this spring's Bika- thon on behalf of the Cys- tic Fibrosis Foundation. They will be recruiting volunteers within the communities to plan the event. The purpose of this event will be to provide the community with in- formation about Cystic Fibrosis and to raise funds to support research, education, and care pro- grams for children affect- ed by cystic fibrosis, and other lung-damaging diseases like severe asthama, chronic bron- chitis, and bronchietasis. Cystic Fibrosis is the number one genetic kill- er of children. Approx- imately one in every 20 Americans is a symptom- less carrier of the recess-- ive CF gene.
