ROCK ISLAND RAIL- ROAD EXTENSION TheGraham«Stamford Branch Seems to Be Almost Assured. Stamford, Texas, Oct. 10.— (Special.) A telegram was re- ceived here by E. P. Swenson this afternoou from B. L. Winch- ell, president of the Rock Island railroad, from his headquarters in Chicago announcing that Chief Engineer J. B. Berry of that road would arrive at Gra- ham, Young county, Wednesday evening, Oct. J4. The object of his visit is to locate the line for the extension of the Rock Island from Graham to Stamford. This extension has been talked of for several months and the visit of Engineer Berry to locate the line is taken to mean that the Rock Island will begin the construction of the extension from Graham to Stamford at a very early date.
