The public hearing was held in connection with NuRock Development West's plan to use tax-exempt bond financing to build a 224-unit low-income apartment complex at McMillan and McCreary Roads. NuRock has asked for $15 million in financing. Another $6 million would come from state tax credits. According to Bob Voelker, NuRock spokesman, the Wylie area does not have an adequate afford- able housing market.
