JUDGE'S REMARKS. Champions.— After completing his arduous task of adjudication of -the poultry, -the judge, Mr E. R. Hughes, of Toowoomba. favored a 'Bulletin' reporter with his remarks on the quali ties of the prize-winners. Beginning with the bird which had won the championship and cup of the show — a While Wyandotte cock— his remarks were that it was 'good all round, and was splendidly barred. It was the best male bird in the show. The cham pion female In the show went to a Black Opington hen, which was a really magnificent bird, being of good type, body, and color. Brown Leghorns. — The winning Brown Leghorn cock was good Jn shape and color, although weak In face and Inclined to go white. No Becond prize was awarded in the class because the other exhibit was not up to the standard. In Brown Leghorn hens, the winner was of fine shape, good color, and with medium head points. The Bulletin   PUBLISHED DAILY. WEDNESDAY, JULY 3, 1907. Attention is drawn to an advertise- ment in connection with the Baptist Sunday School picnic. At the Show Grounds, this after- noon, Messrs. Alfred Shaw, Ltd., have arranged with a machine expert, to give a practical demonstration of the Torpedo Sewing Machine. The Townsville Annual Hospital Ball last night was a great success, there being about 100 couples present. The hall was beautifully decorated, and the supper was of a most recherche character. A full report is held over. On Tuesday afternoon a lad named Fred Bowen was taken to the Ambu- lance Brigade suffering from two large punctured wounds on the right fore- arm. The wounds were caused by be- ing bitten by a dog at Aitkenvale, the dog being the property of a Chinaman there. His injuries were attende dto.   Mr. T. A. LATE LETTER DELIVERIES. (To the Editor.) Sir, —I was pleased to see tlie Cham ber of Commerce take u:- tlie matter of the late hour letters were delivered by the postman, especially mi Mon days. There has been a vast Improve ment since. For instance, on Mon days It was seldom my letters were delivered before 11.30 a.m. Last Mon day I got them at 10.25 a.m. On other days I seldom got my letters before 10.30 a.m. ; now I get them before 9.30 a.m. If an Individual makes a com plaint at the Post Office he is told it is quite impossible to a'.l'.r the matter, but as soon as the Chamber of Com merce takes the same matter up it Is rectified at once.
