PENALTY TOO SEVERE, S.M. SAYS IN UNUSUAL COMPENSATION CASE AN unusual Workers Compensation case was the subject of a judg ment given in the Industrial Court at Roma by Mr. A. E. Sch warten, S.M., on Friday last. On November I, 1945, whiie working at Redland Bay, Bris bane, R. T. C. Barrow, who now resides near Roma, was injured, sustaining a brdken spine which prevented him from following his occupation. Except for a period of several weeks when he tested bis ability to resume work, Barrow received compensation up to August 12, 1947. On tlic following day lie was in. volvcd in a brawl with two men in Arthur Street, Roma, in consequence of which the Borua manager of the State Insurance suspended payment of fur ther compensation, bucIi action being confirmed by the Insurance Commis sioner.
