GERMAN RECONSTRUCTION The German Cabinet has passed to the Reichstag the Eastern Relief Bill, ,a measure which contemplates expenditure and commit ments amounting to at least £70,000,000 in five years for the economic revitalisation. of the Eastern frontier districts reaching from the Baltic to Czecho-Slovakia. In a Ministerial memorandum it is pointed out that the Eastern Districts have been bled 'white' .by' a new frontier which has, cut. across lines of communication, separated producers t oni their ' markets, 'and severed 'one -. large province completely from the' Fatherland. Goods that were ordered before ' August 1 for immediate delivery, but which could: not be delivered until August 1, or a few days later, are not taxable. . . Stone quarried out by means of explosives v is exempt when - so obtained,: but if crushed -and screened the sales of either of those, forms will be taxable, except when sold to the Government , or to Government authority. . CONCRETE PRODUCTS ASSOCIATION Last Wednesday evening, the Concrete Pro ducts Association' of N'ew South Wales held its monthly meeting, when the principal busi ness was the discussion on the ' manufacture of lintels. Mr. J. Butler led the discussion from the' wet aslr type,' whilst Mr. C. H. Shaddock discuss'ed the dry. breeze type and Mr. Fitzpatrick the semi-dry breeze type. On Saturday, 2nd August, members . of the Association visited the works of the St. George Lime and Gement Co, at Kogarah, and were shown over the works. At the meeting Mr. C. H. Shaddock, the Manager of the . Company, explained the layout of his works, which is illustrated on page 7 of this issue.
