Potato Spraying j DEMONSTRATION. ' | Mr A. M. Lea journeyed to Pen- guin on Saturday in order to give a potato spraying exhibition (or the benefit of local farmers. Cr. H. Mainwaring placed a paddock- of potatoes at his dià.ioial, and a large number of representative farmers attended, the council being repres- ented by Crs. , Mainwaring, Yaxley and Pullen. The first Hiing to attract the attention of the farmers gathered was the mixing of the materials for spraying purposes, Twi large vessels holding water were at hand, and into one Mr. Lea put 61b of bluestone, and into the other Sib of washing s Kia; he then mixte! the whole into a large cask, testing the strength of the mixture by the use of speciall prepared paper. A man named Augustus Ander- son, a native of Sweden, who was employed by Mr Thomas Brown of Whiteford Hills, was missing from his hut on Mr Brown's farm, where he camped alone The last lime he was seen alive, was on the 15th.
