A NEW KIND OF FENCE. The question of fencing has at no time exercised the minds of pastoralists as at the present. The acme of perfection required is to secure a fence at once sufficiently close to check the rabbits ; and sufficiently cheap to come within the limits of expenses beyond which its construction will not pay ; and sufficiently strong to efficiently separate the stock in adjoining paddocks ; and sufficiently durable to obviate the necessity for continued repairs. The common wire-fence was a great advance tipon all but the most expensive kinds of timber fences previously in use. But hitherto the chief nse of fences was to confine stock, and the wire fences answered its purpose fully. Now, however, the rabbit has added another use of fence, and the ordinary wire fence is doomed to give place to something which vrili effectually combine the new and the old purposes for which fences are required.
