THE CITIZEN. Price per Year, S5 ; Six Months, $3 TUC SON, ABIZOITA. J"3n,Lnrl:x', - Jan. 2(), 1872. Prepared to Fay. U. S. Marshal Dickason informs us that he is now prepared to pay all ex penses incurred under his administra tion in connection with the Courts in Pima county. Persons interested should call on him now and receive their dues, as he wishes to return to Prescott soon. This will be good news to many, and also a pleasant surprise, and shows that despite the slanders of U. S. Attorney Howell, Mr. Dickason has shown himself to be active and effi cient, and all who know him, know he is honest. This is the first time IT. S. Court expenses have been paid in Arizona, and all for want of an officer like Mr. Dickason. His busi ness is done promptly, and we hope he lie may, for the credit of Arizona, con tinue to hold the office. Tiie somewhat notorious James Fisk, Jr., was shot on the 6th and died from the effects on the 7th. E. S. Stokes thereafter the dispatches not being assas...

It "will ho rememhered, that when tho nolle prosequi wa3 entered and Mr. H. dis charged, ho swears he felt that he '-was out of the clutches of men far " more infamous and a greater curse " to this Territory than all the Apa 'ches in it." It is due to the -nuhlic. and especially to The Citizen as well as to the said Eeavis, that the why be stated as follows : The Su preme Court was in the midst of its deliberations and Eeavis was on the bench; we wero convinced the other members of the Court felt that the bench was polluted by Eeavis' pres...

THE CITIZEN. Price per Year, $5; Six Months, $3 TUCSO ARIZONA .Saturday, - Feb. lO, 1872. Indians at McDowell. We have advices that some days after the Indians stole several animals and left McDowell, one of them re turned with a flag of truce, and want ed that all should he again received and fed. Gen. Carr in command, our informant says very properly informed the savage that if the Indians would return the five horses stolen from the hay contractors, or the thief or thieves who stole them, they might come back and have another chance to prove their professions of peace and be fed. Thi reasonable condition was not accepted, and the Indian envoy left disgusted, evidently convinced that Colyer's policy of rewarding thieves without any conditions, was "played out." Peace and honesty should always be exacted of the savages in return for food, clothinc: and protection. If Gen. Carr and all others follow up with such exactions, the Apaches will soon learn that p peace and honesty 'must b...

They o vn themselves stupid say they did not understand what they helped to make and solemnly agreed to, and also to abide its lesritimate results. Even the Queen in her speech from the throne, says there was a " pardonable over sight " on the part of her negotiators in that they failed to have the Treaty couched in language which the Eng- lish mind could readily comprehend; The Queen hopes the United States will consequently modify our claims, "but the English Pres3 have no such courtly expectations, and neither do the American press generally concur The fact is, President Grant's negotia tors were able men and keenly alive to the injuries received indirectly from Groat Britain by our country in her days of doubtful existence, and they secured a treaty which justly carried out would tolerably repair the dam ages.
