The reader will find in the Dispatch this morning a very peculiar speech made by Com. Stockton before the New Jersey Legislature, and a considerable audience besides, 011 Friday last, at Trenton. It is the most curious deve lopment of the political world which has been made for some time. The warm and glowing eulogy of Mr. Webster, the tribute to the old Federalists, the bold declaration in favor of a Protective Tariff, all from a prominent light of progressive Democracy, may be looked upon as at least remarkable.
