Kingston, N. ,Y., March 18. Tho Laflin & Rand powder works at Rif ton exploded shortly after 11 o'clock Wed nesday. Tho upper glazer first ex ploded setting off tho dry-house and wrecking tho corning mill engine house and lower gldzer. Fivo men wcro killed and an unknown number hurt. The names of tho killed aro Jones, Small oy, Fetorson and two men. named Decker. Tho cause of the explosion will never bo known. The works were destroyed in a similar manner in January, 1804, and wero afterwards rebuilt. They extended for half a mile along the Wallkill creek. Tho loss will exceed 825,000.
