16 NEW MEMBERS JOIN TENNIS CLUB The Eagle Rock Tenuis Club met at the home of Mr. Louis Herzog on Oak Grove avenue Monday evening, with about IS of the members present. About 16 new members have joined the organization since the last meeting, making the present list of members 27. Many business subjects were dis cussed, among them being the pur chasing of lots and the building of a club house. All efforts will be made to get the necessary funds for the down payment on a desirable piece of property for club purposes, and committees tire now out bustling with donation lists. All interestetd in the progress of this section are urged to make a donation to help this good cause along Another meeting of the club will take place on Monday evening at 7:20 sharp at the home of the see retary. PARENT-TEACHERS’ ASSOCIATION MEETS The Parent Teachers’ Association met last Tuesday afternoon at the Kagle Rock <choolhoiise. The first meeting was lu hi for the purpose o organizing. At the last meeting ; highly interesting and instructiw program was held. Mrs. Krevelin o I.os Angeles spoke on questions ot vital importance to mothers and teachers. A hoy singer from Olassel Park rendered a heautiful selection. Also a song by Mrs A W . Mare was very phasing A selection, which was very appropriate and interesting, was read by a visitor from Cumnock Hall. These meetings should be of vital interest to the parents as well as to the teachers. 'I he child should serve as a connecting link between parent and teacher and the hearty co-operation of both in whatever makes for his best interests should be thus secured.

Local Events Mrs. Marjorie McN’itt, who spent the winter with her mother, Mrs. C. Hilton, Eagle avenue, will leave shortly for her home in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Owing to an error the names of the parties who have rented the Hamilton place and who shortly intend to build, was misprinted. It should have been Mr, and Mrs. John Lowe. While at work on a building at Highland Park for A. E. Finley on Tuesday, Ralph Rogers fell from a scaffold and was painfully hurt. We hope to report his recovery by the next issue. W. E. White, the popular building contractor of the valley, has secured several large contracts lately, among them being a ,3-story house on Grand avenue on which he started work Monday. The office of Ernest Meeker, the well known real estate dealer of Eagle Rock Valley, has been moved across the street and has received a good coat of paint, which improves the condition greatly.
