Ati Irishman, named Mullen, died in Richmoud, on the 31st May, of conges- tion of the brain. A new Court House is about being erected at Helton, which will cost over thirteen thousand dollars. The Qnitmnu Herald, of the 19lli says the health of Wood county is re- markably good. The smile paper also says, for week past there has hardly been a dny that we have not seen some one hunting a home in Texan. The oat crop in some localities in Harrison county, wo learn from the King, has been seriously damaged by tho rust The San Antonio papers speak of fine rains in that section, and give glowing accounts of the crop*. A Cernían, named John Hcrzberg, committed suicido one day Inst week, «bout two inilea from Athens, by shoot- ing himself with a ritio. A little girl, duughtcr of a widow la dy by the nanus of Darden, living Harrison county, fell into a well week before lust, and was drowned. A man named Smith, who had been at work 011 tho railroad, was found drowned in tho river at Victoria, on the 7th inst.
