HOCKEY -0n Satfirday the Gerringong girls journeyed to Nowra to meet the Nowra "A" grade team. Play comn menced at '2.40 p.m. in showvery weather. Soon after the start rain fell heavily and forced the spectatL ors bo take shelter in cars and buses. It appeared that the game, would have to be abandoned owing to the heavy rain. Both teams were play ing very keenly, althouigh: they were slipping all overthe field in their sandshoes. At half-time neither side had scored. On resumimig after 'the interval some fast movements by both teams called forth much applause 'from the spectators. -Nowlra were right on top of their game,and after some smart stick work by the Nowra for wards,. Ahn Ratcliffe opened their, score. A little later Nowra again scored, this time Pat Maguire was responsible for beating "the Gerrin gong goalie with a fast shot. ACCIDENTS On Saturday last, Mr. A. H. Jones had two bones broken in his foot when the horse he was riding whilst delivering the morning newspapers fell on the bitumen surface of the roadway near the ' Hospital. His foot was caught in the stirrup and. the horse rolled onhis,foot. He was treated by the Kiama Ambulance. Whilst playing football on Sat urday last Ray King, of Jamnberoo, had his face gashed and had to re ceive Ambulance attention. On Monday last Carleen Stokes had a crochet needle stuck in her leg and had it removed by the Am bulance Officer. Printed and Published by A. J.
