HONOR TO WHOM DUE. [Newspaper Article] — The Mount Barker Courier and Onkaparinga and Gumeracha Advertiser — 21 January 1927

HONOR TO WHOM DUE. Now that the State elections, are drawing near,-claims are being made by the Labor Party in regard to what the party has done, or alleges 11 has done, for the public servants, for the roads, and for hospitals. Out It la as well to examine these claims, and to give honor to whom honor Is due. For Instance we have the Labor Party claiming all the credit for the Super annuation Act, omitting altogether to give any credit to the Liberals in both Bouses—and- without whose sup port It could not have placed on the Statute Book-—who supported and, ludeed,' improved the measure. The Labor Party would have the public servants believe that the Liberals had done nothing for them, but the words of Mr. Hunkin himself, given In the House of Assembly some months be fore -the Liberal Government went out of office, refutes the unfair insinuation. Mr. Hunkin said that every civil ser vant in the State ought to be deeply grateful to the Barwell Government for what they had done for t...
