THE LATEST NEWS.   ---♦---     [BY TELEGRAPH.] LONDON, Tuesday. Over 17,000 names of unemployed   have been registered in London. Many men demanded Trades' Union wages, refusing to accept 4s per day. Emissaries of the Russian Govern- ment have offered drink and liberal bribes to the Hull fishermen for state- ments that torpedo boats were among the fishing fleet off the Dogger Bank. Information that a trap was laid for the fishermen's evidence has been obtained, which Great Britain will submit to the International Commission. Mr Theodore Angier has revived the project of constructing a second Suez Canal. The canal is to be a British work, and the estimated cost is £6,000,000. The route selected is from Alexandria to a point on the east of Suez. The sanc- tion of the Egyptian Government to the proposal has been asked. General Booth, the head of the Salva- tion Army, has announced that he in- tends to pay another visit to Australia. A...
